Berlin: agento, the principal eCommerce platform today, announced a new Magento Live Germany conference for the autumn of 2013 to widen the opportunities for European merchants and partners to share best practices and connect with the growing Magento community. The new event will put up the incredible energy of several Magento partner-hosted conferences in the past week happening in Netherlands, Germany and France:

Meet Magento Netherlands, May 29 – 30 – The fifth Meet Magento rallied over 400 developers, enthusiasts, partners and commerce professionals to discuss leading commerce strategies and case studies while highlighting the latest innovations on the Magento platform.

Meet Magento Germany, June 3 – 4 – The seventh Meet Magento Germany hosted over 500 developers, enthusiasts, partners and commerce professionals.

Bargento 2013, June 4 – The eighth Bargento event in Paris brought together nearly 950 attendees to hear thought-provoking keynotes and practical workshops on ways to tap the growing ecommerce opportunities.

“This is an exciting time for Magento as our momentum in the European market continues to accelerate,” said Roy Rubin co-founder and chief operating officer of Magento. “We’ve seen incredible growth over the past 12 months reaching nearly 900 enterprise customers in Europe and even greater growth in the adoption of our Community Edition product. This strong interest underscores the value that merchants across Europe place on Magento’s unrivaled flexibility, scalability and superior total cost of ownership.”

As European online retail sales expansion continues to outshine offline growth, it is anticipated to reach €191 billion by 2017 according to Forrester Research, Inc.**, giving brands a wonderful opportunity to connect with customers in new and meaningful ways. The unifying focus for the over 1,850 members of the commerce community coming together this past week across major European cities were merchant innovation on Magento and pushing the technological limits of the eCommerce Magento platform.

“Multichannel is an increasingly important part of our business, and ecommerce sales are growing dramatically in all our markets,” said Emma Bonar, Head of Ecommerce of European lingerie leader Hunkemoller. “With over 550 stores in 17 countries, over 2 million members in our loyalty program, and four websites in five languages, we expect our ecommerce platform to support not only the promotion-related peaks in our business but to also deliver a world class service to our customers. Magento has helped deliver on those expectations to grow our ecommerce sales 40% last year.”
